Smart Doorbell Camera Aqara G400 (Wired)
Aqara G400 (Wired) Smart Doorbell Camera – 24/7 front door security with 2K video, PoE or standard wired power
Want to see not just who’s at the door, but also the package left on the ground, get an alert on your phone the second someone walks up, and answer the door from anywhere? That’s exactly what the Aqara G400 (Wired) is made for. It’s a smart video doorbell with 2K resolution, a 165° wide viewing angle, and a 3:4 vertical aspect ratio, so you can see the whole area in front of your door — from a visitor’s face all the way down to a package by the doorstep. It runs on continuous power through either PoE or your existing 8–24V AC/DC doorbell wiring, so there’s no battery to charge or replace.
Unlike simpler camera doorbells, the G400 is built to stay on and keep recording. It supports 24/7 recording to a microSD card up to 512 GB, automatic SMB NAS backup, and ONVIF and RTSP support for broader integration with NVR systems and Home Assistant. It also includes local AI detection for motion, people, and zone breaches, so it can handle key detection tasks without depending on the cloud.

That makes the Aqara G400 a great choice for houses, apartments, offices, and other places where you want more than just a basic view of who showed up. You also get a stable connection, continuous recording, and easy compatibility with popular smart home platforms. The G400 works with Apple Home / HomeKit Secure Video, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings, and it’s also a great fit for people building local automations in Home Assistant.
When does it help most?
If packages often get left by your door and you want to see not just the person, but also the floor area in front of the entrance. The Aqara G400’s 3:4 image format is especially useful for entryways because it gives you a head-to-toe view instead of the usual wide horizontal frame.
If you want a always-powered video doorbell without dealing with batteries. The G400 can be connected via PoE, which carries both power and data through one cable, or through your existing low-voltage doorbell wiring.
If solid smart home integration matters to you. The device supports Apple HomeKit Secure Video, can stream video to Google, Alexa, and SmartThings-compatible displays, and also offers RTSP/ONVIF integration for more advanced setups.
If you only want alerts for things that actually matter. Local AI can detect motion, people, and activity in a chosen zone, while Aqara’s HomeGuardian cloud service can also recognize faces, packages, animals, and vehicles.

Main benefits and features
2K video and a full view of your entrance
The Aqara G400 records at 1536 × 2048 resolution and uses a 165° diagonal viewing angle to help reduce blind spots around your front door. The vertical 3:4 frame also makes it easier to see packages left on the ground by the threshold.
Night vision without harsh light
The device uses 940 nm infrared LEDs to give you a clear picture even in total darkness. This approach is more discreet than bright night lighting and less annoying for people nearby.
Two connection options – PoE or existing doorbell wiring
You can install the G400 using PoE (IEEE 802.3af, 48V) for a more stable power and network connection, or use your existing 8–24V AC / 8–24V DC doorbell wiring. That gives you more flexibility when installing it in different homes or apartments.
24/7 recording and local storage
With a microSD card up to 512 GB installed, the doorbell can provide continuous 24/7 recording. Recordings can also be backed up to an SMB NAS, while ONVIF support means you can also use it with compatible video surveillance systems. Please note: the microSD card is not included.

Local AI and smarter alerts
The doorbell can locally detect motion, people, and zone breaches, so the main detection features do not depend on a cloud service. That’s useful both for faster response and for better privacy. Cloud-based features are also available if you want more advanced event recognition.
Instant phone alerts and two-way audio
When someone presses the doorbell, your phone gets an instant call from your front door. You can immediately see who’s there and talk to them in real time, even if you’re not at home. The device also supports quick replies, including custom voice responses.
Wide compatibility with smart home platforms
The Aqara G400 works with Apple Home / HomeKit Secure Video, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and SmartThings. More advanced users can also integrate it with Home Assistant using RTSP and ONVIF. In Apple Home, video resolution is limited to 1200p, and using HomeKit Secure Video requires iCloud+ and an Apple home hub.

Reliable outdoor performance in all kinds of weather
The housing meets the IP65 protection rating, so the device is suitable for outdoor use in rain and dusty conditions. The manufacturer lists an operating temperature range of -20°C to +50°C.
Privacy features
The G400 includes privacy masking to hide selected parts of the image in recordings, as well as a tamper alarm that triggers a loud warning if someone tries to remove the device or mess with it. Voice changing is also available during two-way conversations for extra privacy.
Flexible installation
The box includes both screw mounting and an adhesive option, along with a 15° angle bracket to help you fine-tune the viewing direction. You also get an indoor chime, mounting accessories, and extension wires in the package.
Important things to know before buying
If you plan to connect it to your existing doorbell wires, the manufacturer says the device does not work with a traditional mechanical chime. It comes with its own chime for indoor use.
If you want 24/7 recording, you’ll need a microSD card, since continuous recording and NAS backup do not work without it.
If you use Apple HomeKit Secure Video, keep in mind that video inside Apple Home is limited to 1200p, even though the camera itself records at a higher resolution.

Where does it work best?
In a private house — to keep an eye on guests, couriers, and packages at your entrance any time of day or night.
In an apartment — to get the call on your phone and answer the door even when you’re not home.
In an office or salon — to check remotely who has come up to the entrance and respond by audio if needed.
In smart home systems — to use automations, stream video to displays, and integrate with Home Assistant or an NVR.
