Tedee Go2 Smart Lock – Smart Door Control With Bluetooth, Matter and Your Phone

Tedee Go2 is a new-generation smart lock that lets you lock and unlock your door with your phone, automatically, with digital access for guests, or with a PIN/fingerprint when using the Tedee Keypad PRO. It is installed on the inside of your door, on an existing compatible cylinder, so from the outside your door still looks completely normal and can still be opened with a physical key.

New: Tedee Go2 supports Matter over Thread. This means you can connect the lock to Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings and other Matter-compatible smart home systems without a Tedee Bridge. For Matter, you do not need Tedee Bridge, but you do need a compatible Thread Border Router / Matter hub, such as Apple TV 4K, HomePod mini, Google Nest Hub, Amazon Echo or another Thread-compatible device.

Without Bridge or a Matter hub, Tedee Go2 works locally via Bluetooth – you can lock and unlock the door when you are nearby. How Does Tedee Go2 Work Without Bridge?

• Bluetooth mode: control the lock with your phone when you are near the door. Tedee Bridge is not required.
• Matter over Thread mode: Tedee Bridge is not required, but you need a Thread Border Router / Matter hub, such as Apple TV 4K, HomePod mini, Google Nest Hub, Amazon Echo or another compatible device.
• Tedee Bridge mode: choose this if you want remote control directly through the Tedee app, Tedee Portal, automatic firmware updates, Tedee cloud integrations, Smart Rental / API features and easier access management outside the home.

Will Tedee Go2 Fit My Door?

Tedee Go2 is designed to be installed on the inside of your door. It physically turns a key or an adapter bar inside the cylinder, so before buying it is important to check your cylinder type, emergency function and how far the cylinder sticks out from the door plate.

1. Check Your Cylinder Type

• Standard European profile / Euro-profile cylinder: usually the best match for Tedee Go2.
• Scandinavian / Nordic type lock: requires a Nordic Adapter + Tedee Bar adapter.
• US deadbolt type lock: requires a dedicated Deadbolt adapter.
• Oval mortise setups: require the right adapter and Tedee Bar adapter.
• Swiss or non-standard locks: should be checked individually using photos of the door and cylinder.

2. Check the Emergency / Double-Clutch Function

This is very important: your cylinder should have an emergency function, also called double-clutch or anti-panic function. This means the door can still be opened from the outside with a key, even if there is a key or Tedee mechanism on the inside.

How to check it?

1. Put one key into the cylinder from the inside.
2. Put another key into the cylinder from the outside.
3. Turn the outside key.
4. If the cylinder turns and the door can be unlocked, the function is suitable.
5. If the outside key does not turn while another key is inserted from the inside, we recommend replacing the cylinder with a compatible one.

Why is this important? If your cylinder does not have the emergency function, you may not be able to unlock the door from the outside with a physical key after installing a smart lock.

3. Check How Far the Cylinder Sticks Out

• If the Euro-profile cylinder sticks out enough and gives the lock a stable mechanical grip, Tedee Go2 can usually be installed without an additional adapter.
• If the cylinder is almost flush with the door plate or sticks out less than around 3 mm, you will need the Tedee Go2 European Adapter.
• If the cylinder sits too deep or the door plate blocks the mounting, the cylinder may need to be replaced or checked individually.

4. Check the Space Around the Lock

The Tedee Go2 body sits on the inside of the door, so make sure it is not blocked by the handle, decorative plate, door frame or any other part of the door. If you are not sure, send us a photo of the inside of your door and the cylinder measurements – we will help you choose the right set.

When Do You Need the Tedee Go2 European Adapter?

The European Adapter is needed when you have a European profile cylinder, but it does not stick out far enough from the door plate for Tedee Go2 to be mounted securely. The adapter gives the lock extra support for a stable and safe installation.

• Euro-profile cylinder + emergency function + enough cylinder protrusion: usually no adapter is needed.
• Euro-profile cylinder + emergency function + small protrusion / almost flush with the door plate: Tedee Go2 European Adapter is needed.
• Euro-profile cylinder without emergency function: the adapter does not solve the main issue – we recommend replacing the cylinder.
• Scandinavian / Nordic lock: Nordic Adapter + Tedee Bar adapter is needed.
• Tedee PRO-compatible cylinder: Tedee Bar adapter is needed.
• US deadbolt: Deadbolt adapter is needed.
