• Aqara FP2: A powerful previous-generation model that works over Wi-Fi. It can detect a person's posture, including situations such as a fall. However, it relies on a stable Wi-Fi connection and isn't designed for humid environments.

• Aqara FP300: A compact and versatile hybrid. The big advantage here is battery operation, making it a great option for places where running a power cable isn't practical.

• Spatial Multi-Sensor FP400 (New flagship): Brings together the best features of the FP series. It replaces Wi-Fi with the more stable Thread and Zigbee protocols, can track up to 10 people at once, and comes with water resistance. It's a seriously capable option for a modern smart home.

How do you set it up? Simply connect the FP400 to power using the included USB-C cable.

• Using Matter: Open your smart home app, choose to add a new Matter device, and scan the Matter code on the sensor or in the manual. Your setup will need a Matter controller with Thread support, such as a compatible Apple Home or Google Nest hub.

• Using Zigbee: Open the Aqara Home app, select the FP400, switch it to Zigbee mode, and connect it to a compatible Aqara hub, such as the Aqara Hub M200 or M100. Things to know before buying (Model: PS-S05D) The FP400 isn't battery-powered – it needs a constant power supply (cable included) to continuously monitor the space without delays. It has IPX5 water resistance, so it's safe to use in bathrooms and other humid areas. This is the full PS-S05D version and comes with a convenient magnetic bracket, making it easy to mount the sensor securely on a wall, ceiling, or in a corner without complicated installation. Just make sure its view isn't blocked by large furniture, so it can properly monitor the space.
